Celtic Festival 2009!

We had a busy weekend!  It was Daddy's 31st birthday and on Saturday we were partying.  We went to Williamsburg to Grammy and Grandpa's with Uncle B and Aunt J plus the twins for Lunch and cake!  After a fun morning/early afternoon over there we headed back home to have dinner/cake with Lallie and Grandad, Uncle S and Aunt S, Uncle A and K.   Liam had a blast at both places and was pretty wore out by the time we got back home later that night.  Daddy loved his present ( a TomTom) that Liam named Jenkins.

On Sunday Morning bright and early Uncle A and K met us over at the house and we took off to the Celtic Festival!  We attend this every year and love it! They have moved it out to the Meadow event park this year in Doswell... We liked the new place!

Liam got to ride the ponies this year!

There is tons of stuff to do there... you can listen to the live Irish bands, buy Irish stuff from the market place, or watch Big Men Throwing stuff, oh and don't forget the food... We did a little of all!

The Twins Turn 2!

For those of you who don't know Liam has twin cousins on his daddy's side of the family.  C and A were born about 10 months after Liam.   Liam loves seeing his cousins and we do get to see them quite often but not really as often as we would like since they live an hour away.

Anyways it was their 2nd Birthday and we all packed in the car and headed to Grammy's house for the party!  They had a Sesame Street Themed Party and tons of fun was had by all!

Liam and A love playing trains and anything boy!

While C usually hangs out by herself or with the girls!

They all had a blast running around with their balloons though!  They were just plain crazy with those balloons!

Everyone had a great time, and we can't wait to go back next weekend to celebrate T (daddy's) birthday!

The Wild World of Potty Training!

We have been working with Liam for what feels like forever on this potty training thing.  He will go potty almost 100% at his Lallie and Grandads but doesnt want to go at home.  I really dont know why he feels this way and I have to "make" him go...

Well he has started to want to wear his big boy Tighty Whites and Spiderman underwear so we are trying super hard today and from now on to get him to use the potty... We had tryed the sticker chart method but he got bored with it... so I came up with a new way... I drew a big Gumball machine and drew probably atleast 30 gumballs in the thing... after he potties he gets to pick a color crayon and color 1 gumball!!

When they are all colored in he gets to go pick out a new GeoTrax train that he has been wanting.

So Wish us luck and hopefully he will be fully potty trained by his birthday in November!!

Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

I feel like we have searched all the Pumpkin Patches in the area for the Great Pumpkin this past week/weekend!  Liam is a very lucky little boy that he not only got to go to the pumpkin patch with school but also with tons of family.

Our Pumpkin Adventures started out with an awesome School Bus ride up to Gallmeyer Farm's Pumpkin Patch with his preschool class.

He loved riding the school bus, and was all smiles the whole way!

Once we got there we were able to immediately jump on the Hayride and head to the Pumpkins!!  We get off the hayride and he and his best buddy Quinn took off in search of  the one and only perfect pumpkin.

Liam's strategy for find said pumpkin was the totally boy method of KICKING the pumpkin! Finally after walking all through this giant pumpkin patch we decided we had found the best pumpkin! We head back to the lunch area and after eating lunch the kids got to run and play in the Hay Bales and Hay Maze!

Liam loved getting to throw the hay around and jump and just be a crazy man!  It was a great day!

Then on Saturday Travis, Liam and I drove to Williamsburg to go to Pumpkinville with Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Brian, and the Twins.

He enjoyed getting to pull the wagon to the pumpkin patch and running around with his little cousins

But found it more fun to dig in the dirt!

He ended up not wanting a pumpkin for himself since he already had one, so he got one for Pippin!  Its a cute little one too!!  We walked back to the front and looked at the Pirate Ship

And ran through a corn maze, then went on a spooky hayride!

A fun time was had by all!!  We even went to a local pizza shop for lunch!

  Liam ordered a cheese pizza!

Finally on Monday we headed over for our annual trip to Chesterfield Berry Farm!  This year we went with Shanna and Jake.  It was nice in some ways and not so nice in others!  We were glad it was fall like outside but sad that it started raining once we got our pumpkins.   Liam had a blast running around the patch with Jake though and he and Travis found some yucky bumpy pumpkins out there!

He loved the hayride

and we even got to roast our hotdogs over a fire pit before heading for home for the day since it was so chilly and wet!  Hope you have enjoyed our trek through the pumpkin patch world, and to all a Happy Fall!!

Gallmeyer Farm Pumpkin Patch

Today Liam and I went on his very first school field trip.  His class went out to Gallmeyer Farm to romp around in their pumpkin patch.  Liam was so excited because they got to ride on the big school bus!  He just could not contain himself and was super amped up!

His excitement only got worse once he saw the field of Big orange pumpkins!  We get there and immediately him and his really good buddy Quinn get on the hay ride to ride over to the big Pumpkin Patch.

Liam and I had previously talked about what kind of pumpkin he wanted and he was very specific in that he wanted a tall and skinny one.  So off we go over the 2 acre pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin....

Liam came up with the best way to find a great pumpkin... in true boy fashion he decided he needed to KICK all of them! It was actually pretty funny...
Finally after many pumpkins and a tired mommy later I tell him that he needs to pick one or we are going to get left out there because the hayride was back... He ends up letting me have the pumpkin I was carrying around the whole time... Its cute and round and just about perfect!

After a fun hayride to look around the farm and see the turkeys we come back to have lunch!  After lunch Liam and all his buddies got to run around and play on some hay bales and run through a hay maze.  Ever tried to find a bunch of 2 year olds in a hay maze...Its not easy!  It was a really fun time and of course Hay was EVERYWHERE!

They also had a great little farmer's market there with an awesome tractor that the kids could climb on!  Liam loved sitting and "driving" the tractor!

And of course Liam's all time favorite "the Monster Mash Guy"

All in All we had a great time!  Liam loved being out with this school buddies and getting to run around with all those pumpkins :)

Happy Fall Everyone!

YAY!!!! FALL is here!!

Fall is by far our families favorite time of year!  We love to be outside with the crisp air and falling leaves!  So to start off this awesome time of year and enjoy the bueatiful weather we have been having we took a trip to the Richmond Metro Zoo with our friends on Friday and then went to Maymont as a family on Saturday morning.  The weather was awesome for both!!  Not to hot and not to chilly just perfect for Liam to run around and let out some of his pent up energy!!

Lets start with the Zoo!!  We went with 5 of my mommy friends and their children... We looked like a stroller brigade there were so many of us!   Can you imagine how much fun we had with 8 kids 3 and under running around the Zoo!  I'm sure people thought they should live there but they had a blast!

Liam's favorite part was of course getting to feed the giraffes, seeing and feeding the Alpacas. He loved the petting zoo they have too.  He hugged the donkey and got to feed the goats--even though he got angry at the goat for trying to steal the donkeys food!  It was fun to watch them because they could not stay at one thing for more than a minute tops before having to run to the next animal.

Of Course I was sad because I really wanted to bring home the chocolate/black Alpaca baby!  I wanted to name her Dolly... (Dolly LLAMA hahaha)

After about 2 hours of running around the zoo we called it a day, but of course you can't leave without looking around the gift shop!  Liam ended up getting a rubber squeaking BAT!  If you know Liam at all you know he is in love with all things SPOOKY, so a BAT is what he wanted!

On Saturday we headed to Maymont Park!  Its an all time FAVE around here!  DH and I started going there when we were dating way back 10 years ago, and have always had a special place in our hearts for it!  So its pretty awesome that we can share that with Liam.  He loves running around out there!  We always start at the Barn and see all the goats, chickens, potbelly pigs, donkey, and horses and then head down to see all the foxes and our fave the Bears!  They have 2 little bears there and it was our lucky day because they were really close and were having a good ole time fighting and romping where we could watch!  They were super cute and Liam told them " Bears you stop fighting that's not nice!"  "Stop biting each other"  It was really funny.

Liam also was super excited when a train came down the tracks and he got to watch it drive by.  He loves trains and from that point on kept listening for more of them to come.  We then heading into the Japanese Gardens and crossed the bridge and walked up the stone steps to the waterfall!

We have had an awesome weekend so far and I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!  Hoping the Redskins decide to come to play tomorrow!  We will all be gearing up in our Skins jerseys!
